January 6 at 6:51pm

Please accept my apologies for this late update. These cases can take allot out of me… Eight hours driving down then 8 hours working and then 4 more hours working and another 8 hour drive. By the time I got home, it was 9:00 PM and I was beat. So were the seven dogs I traveled with on this trip

Yesterday we made the decision to continue to work to find a trail out of the area by scanning probable travel routes for Maddox based on what we learned on Friday. We began by mapping out possible creeks, rivers, ditches and open spaces that run all through northern Oklahoma City. The first three locations we tried we found no scent but the fourth location… bingo. The big brown dog reached far and alerted that he had scent. Like the PetCo trail, we did not know where we were going or when this scent had been laid down but we trusted Cade and off we went. He ran through woods, fields and creeks for a over a quarter mile until he brought us to a creek where we established that he was now tracking Maddox foot steps. We leap frogged about a mile up the creek by truck and then Teagan began to bark inside the truck… he was telling us that he had scent. We stopped the truck and there in front of us was the creek we had just left a mile to the south. We got Teagan out and he headed to the creek crossing the busy street and running down the side of the steep creek side.
Teagan continued for about a quarter mile and then we pulled him up with the intent of leap frogging again. We drove a mile north to what looked to be the same creek and asked Cade to check for scent. He indicated that the there was no scent at the location but that there was scent back to the south, the way we had come. We asked Trump if he had scent and he indicated that he could not detect the scent which let us know if was pretty far back. We would later look on the maps and realize that Cade had been right… Maddox could not have continued up the creek where we checked as the creek where he was traveling would have lead him in another direction. He would have had to turn about a quarter mile back from where we checked…Good job Cade.
We checked sightings and found they were other dogs and then began the long drive back to Nebraska.
Jackie and the family took to the streets armed with the new signs and covered every main street for about 4 miles in each direction. We are still working on this case… strategizing from here.
Keep your paws crossed… we did have a likely sighting today… about a quarter mile from the creek where Teagan had alerted and followed Maddox scent down the creek.
