Day 80:

As you can all probably tell from my posts the past week I have been frantic.. I have been freaking out to put it mildly!! I feel as if I have spent the past few months all over the place.. Sightings north, sightings south, sighings all over the place! And not even knowing if I am searching in the right areas.. I feel so helpless & confused & like I am losing my mind! =(( I am trying to listen to the signs but feel as if I am being pulled in multiple directions.. I don't know how to tell which directions are the correct ones and which are the bad ones.. It is very frustrating and I feel very over-whelmed!! =''(((

A friend gave me a book of scriptures that I do read almost every day and strangely the same scripture for today is the same one someone else sent me last night but I just read this morning so thought that is what I have to post today and maybe this is exactly what I need to do today...

"Jackie go to an area where you have a strong feeling that Maddox is close. Someplace within the area where he has been sighted. Find a spot kind of out of the way, protected and quiet and sit there very still and tell God that He is going to have to bring Maddox to you because you have done all you know to do and you know you can't do it without Him so tell God to do it for you and mean it -- feel it. Then sit, think of Maddox and think of God and think of the verse "be still and know that I am God". Praying continues ....... "

  1. Good luck. Don't give up. I love when I read stories of pets being reunited with their family after lengthy periods of time.

We have two dachshunds and I would be doing the same if either of them were lost.

  3. I have 4 dogs, 2 inside and 2 outside. I know how you feel. One of our outside dogs went missing and I put up a $500 reward and posted his pic on every sign available and vets and went door to door. About 2 months later and several false sightings, we got a call and ck'd it out. It was our TBONE, our boxer! He was chained inside a fence and went crazy when he saw us! We walked right in and got him. The person that called was in with the person that had him...they steal dogs, watch for the rewards and turn the dog back in. Before we would cough up the reward money, we said we need the cops to come fill out a report. That cooled them down quick, they just let us walk away with OUR dog! happy ending! DON'T GIVE UP!

  7. I hope you find your Maddox! He is so adorable & deserves to be back home with his loving parents! Have you considered contacting a psychic? There is a website... psychiccrimefighter.com where you can post requests for them to help you with a missing case and they do have a missing animals section. Good luck! <3 - Christina

  8. I just want you to know that I also have a min pin, Zoey, who is 15-1/2 years old. When she was about four, we took her to a kennel while we were going to be out-of-town, and she got loose from them and ran into the woods. She was gone for nine days and was very close to a highway. I was a nervous wreck. But I want you to know that we found her after nine very long days, a little skinny with ticks on her, but no worse for the wear. I couldn't believe it. I honestly didn't think we'd find her. She was the same way as your Maddox, she wouldn't let anyone get near her, so she just waited until she actually heard our voices and came out of hiding. People were so nice about calling in when they spotted her, and that's basically how we found her. I just want to give you some hope. I am Catholic, and when we lose something, we pray to St. Anthony (finder of lost causes, lost things, etc.): "Tony, Tony, please come down. Something's lost that can't be found." I have used that prayer many times, and he's never let me down. I also prayed to God to take care of our little Zoey, and that if I couldn't find her to please let someone find her that would be good to her and take care of her. Just keep your chin up, and I am praying that you find your sweet little Maddox. Cindy

My heart goes out to you and your beloved Maddox. It sounds as though you're diligently and faithfully using every resource to bring Maddox home. I know our 'Angels trapped in Dogsuits' have remarkable abilities to withstand difficult times. I'm hoping and praying you're re-united ASAP. I'm assuming a microchip check nationwide is taking place. If NOT, please get the word out, we're here to help you bring Maddox safely home. So sorry this awful situation has not yet concluded with a happy ending. Have faith, goodness is worth waiting for, and Maddox will safely come home. Best regards from Chicago.

  11. I am so, so sorry to hear about Maddox. I have a minpin/chihuahua mix who is my WORLD and I can't even imagine being in your current possition. I am in Dallas (more specifically Addison) and although I'm still a few hours from OK, I will do my best to spread the word and pray that you get your baby back. But at least you've helped so many others find their babies. Maybe that's why this has happened. <3 -H. G.

  12. Hi Jackie,

My name is Amanda, and I live in Texas. I just wanted to reach out after reading your story on the front page of Yahoo and then coming to your website about Maddox. My husband and I have two small dogs, and I can only imagine what you are going through. I'm so sorry you are going through this. I'm touched and impressed by your dedication and I truly hope that you find Maddox. I don't know what I would do in your situation, but I feel I would react similarly. I know many people don't always understand the love and devotion some people feel for their pets. Ours are members of our family, as I know Maddox is for you. Please know I'm thinking of you, and sending good vibes to you and Maddox!

  16. I wish you the best in finding you're little guy. I too own a small dog, He's a mini Rat Terrier and has a face like Maddox that's why I feel for you and understand what your going through, I would be lost with out him and couldn't fathom losing him or him losing me! I never leave him with anyone to watch and after reading your story never will. Good thing is is that your story is out there thanks to Yahoo news and know you got more people looking. My guess is he's heading home dogs have a great GPS with that and he may not be in OK any more! So I'm sure you don't need me to tell you just don't give up.

  18. Jackie,

I live in Mustang, OK and have a black miniture dachshund named Kelly. She will be 8 in June and she has been with us since she was eight weeks old. She is just like one on my children. I completly understand your desire and devotion to getting your dog back. I would do the same thing.
OKC is a big place so could you be a bit more specific about exactly where Maddox was lost. What are the names of the nearest major streets? I called Petsmart and you can put up a picture and ad about a lost pet. You can put one in all of the Petsmarts in the metro area (if you haven't done so already). I will now keep my eye out for Maddox. I really, really hope you find him.

  20. Jackie, Lots of love and strength to you during this difficult time. I saw your story on Yahoo and immediately felt desperate for you. If my precious dog disappeared I would be devastated. I always stop for dogs I see running around and I hope someone sees your story, spots your baby and gets him home. I'm in New York, so Maddox probably won't make it this way, but I am still keeping an eye out and spreading your story. Only luck and blessings for you and Maddox from here on out. -Rachel

  21. Hi I read your story on Yahoo and linked here - just want to say keep the faith & the search. My cairn terrier girl ran out of my sister's house & was gone overnight, I was incredibly lucky to find her the next day about 3 miles from where she was last seen and in the complete opposite direction from where we had been searching. My friend's cat was missing for over a month and she got him back as well, all because of posters. You've probably done this but put up posters, posters everywhere & refresh them - your baby can wander miles away where you would never think to look! I got a lost dog home because of posters once. Get the word out and network to anyone (any min-pin breed groups in the area?) and everyone. I'm sure you're on top of this but keep on believing - I know how you feel & am pulling for you. I live in CT or I would help you search - it is a terrible feeling, I know. Best of thoughts and luck to you and Maddox.

Have you contacted a Pet Psychic...

  23. I have a miniature pinscher and know that I would feel exactly how you feel. He is my son, and I can't imagine life without him. I had not heard Maddox's story until today, I live in South Texas, and although I can't help you from where I am, I will keep you and Maddox in prayer. I really hope you find him, I am sure he misses you as much as you miss him.

  24. Hi,
I live about an hour and a half northwest of OKC in Enid. I am a fellow animal lover and would be devastated if this happened to me. I was wondering in what area was Maddox lost? When I come into town occasionally I would love to help look for him. Did he have a collar on? Anyhow, I wish you the best and pray your pup comes home to you soon! Stay hopeful:)

  25. Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

I had a similar issue with my Min Pin, he took off and I just cried out to God for him to help me find my dog, I remembered this scripture because this is one of my favorites. If you BELIEVE that you have received you will receive, just truly believe it and God will give Maddox back to you. I have prayed that God will send him home to you or at least direct you to where he is. I would go back to where he was lost originally and look around in that area again. Then I would look in any of the wooded areas that he was near, and trace your steps back home. I will keep you and Maddox in my prayers.

  26. I believe your dog is out there. I'll bet he headed to Texas first, now he's on his way home. I bet he's still in OK. He's found rest and someone has been feeding him. We once lost a pekingese for two weeks, she was spending her days inside a pharamacy (they finally saw our ad) and nights, no idea. Another time our cat got lost, she was gone for a month we found her, this was back before they had chips, and it was the animal shelter who called, we had given them a description of her. Poor thing managed somehow. Hang in there, all you can do is get the word out.

  27. I just read your story and I too would be devastated and frantic at the loss of my beloved fur kid. She is so much a part of my life that I cannot imagine her lost and alone in a strange city searching for me.

I have many friends and relatives in the OKC area and have linked your site to my facebook page asking them for their help as well.

I hope the best for you my dear. Maybe with more of us looking you will recover your little one.

    Blessings,

  28. Hello dear loving pet mom, sorry don't know your name... I just read your story somewhere in the yahoo.com page... I totally feel for you, feel your pain, but what you are doing is so remarkable.

I know it seems really bad right now, but I have the strong feeling that this is going to end up in a happy ending... soon...

In the meantime, remember everything happens for a reason, even when we don't understand why at the moment, there is a reason and a good reason...

If you need to talk to someone, feel free to call me... I am a Spiritual Coach (check my website, themindclinic.net) - and if you feel I can help, go ahead and call me (no charge to you)... I also have pets (hens and roosters, yes, a bit different) and I ADORE them and would die if I lost one - Actually I did, one night I had to go to sleep without one of my roosters and it felt horrible... they are my babies... so I totally get it...

thanks for being so awesome with your boy, I think you will find him soon,

    lots of blessings

  29. Hi Ms. Vestal, good luck on finding Maddox. My suggestion is to put together a detailed flyer, and saturate the schools in OKC, especially the younger kids that walk, and ride skateboards, and bicycles. They get around, talk a lot, and see everything in their neighborhood. If you saturate the schools, you'll have literally thousands of eyes watching out for Maddox. Good Luck, and God Bless. 35. I just read your story on Yahoo! News and I sincerely hope you find your Maddox. I'm sure you've considered the possibility that Maddox is trying to find you and is on a journey of his own back to California. Dogs have been known to do just that. At least some good has come from Maddox' disappearance in the finding of other lost ones. Good luck in your search and I'll say a little prayer for you and Maddox. Take care. 39. I can not share your pain in any way as I have not walked in your shoes.... The only thing I can say is because of your loose many others have been blessed with their pet being returned. I know that does not help with the pain but if it was not for Maddox getting lost these other owners would still be morning also. Thank you for your efforts and I do hope the outcome to find Maddox can end for you soon with a nice lick in the face by your pup.

  40. We have lost our dog (a fat bull terrier) near our home so I can relate to a bit of your sheer panic. What you are going through is a nightmare and I hope it ends soon with Maddox back in your arms. He is a very lucky dog baby and must return so he can continue his life of a King! My husband has many co-workers in Oklahoma City so he will pass the word on to them. Please keep your spirits up...Maddox is probably living in a home filled with love and fun with those who found him and they have no idea he is chipped and how distraught you are. I am sure you have tried everything but just in case...we put our lost dog on petamberalert.com, craigslist, online in our local newspaper, sent 100's of postcards with our pets information via petharbor.com, printed our own posters and put them up in protective sleeves with brightly colored duct tape to grab attention, offered a cash reward with the exchange to be made at a police station or vet's office after positive id was made, we had magnets made from a sign store that went on our cars and friend's cars with her picture and our contact information.... She was found and the wonderful people that found her did not even want the reward money. So please maintain hope...there are so many good people out there that help our pets when they are lost. He will come home as soon as the right information reaches the right person and they realize he is your dog child. Our prayers are with you and Maddox!

  45. I admire you so much for no giving up, there's no love as true and pure as the one your dog gives you, I know what losing a pet can do to your heart, I know how difficult it is to get through that. I'm too far away to help you physically, but despite the distance I'm praying for Maddox so he can be safe and for you to find patience in order for you to be relax and alert for all the signs that lead you to him, and for both of you so you can find each other soon.

I wish you the best of luck all the way from Mexico

  46. I found out about your story via Yahoo yesterday and I empathize with how you're currently dealing with the situation. I have my own little black dog (3 year old black and tan Shiba Inu) and he's basically my unbirthed child. If I ever lost him I would be just like you. Doing everything I could to get him back. I'll pray for your efforts to come to a rewarding end and for Maddox's safety and hope you will stay strong and that Maddox will find his way back to you. Best of luck and I look forward to the day that you two will be reunited.
